Deadline for Exhibiting at the DaVinci Inventor Showcase is Friday, Oct 28th
The DaVinci Inventor Showcase is one of the nation’s premier events focused on creating a link between inventors and world marketplace. By allowing inventors to take center stage and tell the world about their product, they hope to create an unparalleled experience for everyone involved.
The DaVinci Institute often get asked the question about how many of the inventor for the DaVinci Inventor Showcase have become successful. The short answer is – “lots of them.” We don’t know the details on everyone, but we thought we’d share a few stories about some of them:
- Jim Turner – Optibike(www.optibike.com) “Since Optibike won the Inventors Showcase in 2007, we have progressed to selling in over 25 countries with our industry-leading Made in America products. In 2011 we opened our 8,000 sq foot flagship retail store in Boulder, Colorado.”
- Melanie Romero – She-Edison LLC (www.SheEdison.com): “In the past 3 years we have launched 4 products, sold on both HSN and QVC television, done business with ACE Hardware, Lowes, Home Depot, Amazon, and Beyond and have made our company profitable. These successes have now led to one of our products being sold in over 750 Wal-Mart stores nationwide.”
- Stephen Schmutzer – Firefly Medical, Inc.( www.fireflymedical.com): “Firefly has raised $1.4M in seed funding and has recently signed a term sheet for an additional $2.2M in Series A funding. We are putting a solid together, and we plan to take the company’s debut product to market.”
- Gordon Nuttall – Flip-Pal (www.flip-pal.com, www.couragent.net ): “After winning the Davinci Consumer Product of the Year in November 2009, the Couragent team introduced its first product, the Flip-Pal mobile scanner in July 2010. Flip-Pal is sold on Flip-Pal.com, Amazon.com, by over 200 affiliates, Brother sewing machine dealers, independent retailers, and has been seen on HSN and TSC. Our workforce is now 24. Other jobs have been created by the suppliers of accessories such as carry cases and crafting kits, and at our fulfillment center in Northern Colorado. Couragent was featured in the October edition of Money magazine and has syndicated TV airings on The Art of Living and Scrapbook Soup.”
