Jiadang (Family Stuff) is a project by Chinese photographer Huang Qingjun that shows Chinese families posing next to all of their worldly possessions. He spent almost ten years traveling around to various rural communities in China, asking families to take everything they owned and carefully arrange them outdoors for a picture. (Photos)

When people around the world were surveyed about the ideal modern leader, 64,000 people in 13 countries–from China to Canada–wished their leaders were slightly less polarizing and more collaborative.

In the early 2000’s consumers who fell behind on their credit card payments never thought that five years later employers would use their credit reports to determine their job worthiness. Some avid social media users must have realized that insurance companies, the IRS, law enforcement, and credit agencies would soon use their their data to investigate fraud, determine creditworthiness, and monitor other potentially illegal activity. Anjan Contractor’s 3D food printer might remind you of the “replicator” popularized in Star Trek where Captain Picard was constantly interrupting himself to order tea.  Contractor’s company, Systems & Materials Research Corporation, just got a six month, $125,000 grant from NASA to create a prototype of his universal food synthesizer.
