Online and mobile advertising hits $43 billion
Digital revenue surpassed broadcast TV this year.
Digital advertising online and via mobile crossed the $40 billion mark for the first time ever this past year, according to the Internet Advertising Bureau. Since 2004, the average growth rate has been 18 percent. And this year, digital ad revenues surpassed broadcast television for the first time.

America is in the midst of two demographic transformations right now. Our population is becoming majority non-white at the same time a record share is going gray. Each of these shifts would by itself be the defining demographic story of its era.
