Cosmic changes are coming.

When it comes to terraforming, the Universe makes man’s puny efforts to be king of the hill look pretty pathetic. Not only are we completely at the mercy of a constantly changing planet, but we’re careening through space totally vulnerable to a sea of objects and cosmic influences beyond our wildest imagination.

Yet intuitively we have the peace that all is under control in some magnificent way.

The decades long assertion that our solar system would soon enter an electrically charged life altering photon belt around the Sirius star system has been regularly dismissed as pseudo science–NASA speak for “conspiracy theory”. Despite periodical scientific validation it has been continually pushed aside by mainstream science.

Dental x-rays double brain tumor risk: study

Researchers found frequent doses of x-ray radiation were linked with more cases of the cancer.

Having more than one dental x-ray a year can double or even triple the chance of developing a common type of brain tumor, according to a new study. People who recalled having frequent dental x-rays were more likely than those who did not, to have a form of non-spreading cancer called meningioma.

A fascinating study was published by SBRN member David Dunstan and colleagues in Australia, which examined the acute (e.g. short-term) impact of uninterrupted sitting on metabolic health.  In this new study, individuals with overweight or obesity were asked to perform 3 separate conditions in random order. The insecticide now known as Splenda

Did you know that Splenda was born as an insecticide? It’s true!

Splenda is not natural; it is a chlorinated artificial sweetener. There have been no long-term human studies on the safety of Splenda; however, issues have been raised about Splenda in a new study from Duke University.

According to a new study, the obesity problem in the U.S is far worse than previously thought.  Researchers found 39 per cent of Americans currently classed as slightly overweight using the Body Mass Index calculator are actually obese.

World’s first stairlift for obese pets

Now your dogs weight won’t impede his mobility. Is that a good thing?

With news that more and more pets are joining the growing ranks of the obese (spurred by too much processed food, sedentary culture and architecture) it’s only a matter of time before someone thought of designing a stairlift for these unfortunate animals, just like their human counterparts.

In a country where observers are predicting over half of its dogs will be obese by 2022, the Daily Mail reports that a UK-based insurance company is prototyping a device that will help pudgy pets climb stairs, which they’re calling “Stair Lift of the Dog 2022″…
