New research has uncovered a forgotten chapter in the history of the Bible, offering a rare glimpse of Byzantine Jewish life and culture.


Religious Knowledge Survey Shows Americans Lack Some Religious Knowledge


86% of Americans believe in a higher power but lack knowledge of own traditions.

Americans are clear on God but foggy on facts about faiths.The new U.S. Religious Knowledge Survey, released today by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life, finds that although 86% of us believe in God or a higher power, we don’t know our own traditions or those of neighbors across the street or across the globe.

Man Builds Noah’s Ark to the Exact Scale Given in the Bible


Working Replica of Noah’s Ark opened In SCHAGEN, Netherlands.

The massive central door in the side of Noah’s Ark was opened and  the first crowd of curious townsfolk beheld the wonder. This replica of the biblical Ark was built by Dutch Creationist Johan Huibers as a testament to his faith in the literal truth of the Bible.  (Pics)

College Campus Divided Over Bible For Porn Campaign


It’s part of a campaign called ‘Smut for Smut’ sponsored by the student group, ‘Atheist Agenda.’ “We are comparing their religious text to pornography..” says group member Carlos Morales.

Collecting more than just the bible, this group accepts anything containing religious text. In return, students ages 18 or older receive pornography.

Jerusalem Dig Uncovers 2,100-Year-Old City Wall


Beer bottles, a nice contribution to holy land

Israeli archaeologists unveiled a 2,100-year-old Jerusalem perimeter wall along with beer bottles left behind by 19th century researchers who first discovered the stone defenses. The wall, on Mount Zion at the southern edge of Jerusalem’s Old City, dates back to the Second Jewish Temple, which was destroyed by the Romans in AD 70.

Vatican Concocts List of “New Sins”

Apparently there is a half life to sins. The old book of sins speaking in “begots” and “begats” was a little behind the times, and so was everything that came after “Thou shalt not…”. The new list of seven sins starts off something like this.

Thou shall not pollute the Earth. Thou shall beware genetic manipulation. Modern times bring with them modern sins. So the Vatican has told the faithful that they should be aware of “new” sins such as causing environmental blight.
