Not all species weaken and become more likely to die as they age.

Most people would probably describe aging as when we our in our youth we are strong and healthy and then we weaken and die. But, in nature, the phenomenon of aging shows an unexpected diversity of patterns and is altogether rather strange, conclude researchers from The University of Southern Denmark.

71% of Americans believe artificial limbs will perform better than natural limbs by 2050

Americans have faith in the advancement of human technology.

A Pew Research Center report offers a fascinating look at Americans’ views on aging — and on, specifically, the practice known as “radical life extension.” The survey found that most American adults don’t believe that such life extension capabilities will be generally feasible in the near future: 73 percent of them answered no when asked whether the average person would live to be 120 years old by the year 2050.

The More You Sit Around, The Shorter Your Life Span

Favorite pastime for Americans.

The more Americans engage in one of their favorite pastimes — sitting around — the shorter their average life span, a new study suggests. The effect remained even after researchers factored out obesity or the level of daily physical activity people were engaged in, according to a study of more than 120,000 American adults.

This year, as a humanitarian effort, the National Black Farmers Association (NBFA) and the Aminal Welfare Institute (AWI) launched ‘Project Wanted Horse,” assuring that any horse rescued from slaughter or an abuse situation would be placed on one of 94,000 NBFA farms across the country. Del Camino Equestrian Enterprises Inc., which takes a very special interest in “senior” horses has honored the NFBA its 2008 Best Humane Business Innovation Award for its commitment to senior horses.
