AT a sprawling shipyard in South Korea, workers building the world’s biggest ships could be wearing robotic exoskeletons to lug around 100-kilogram hunks of metal as if they’re nothing.
A self-supporting Mars colony.
The first people could be taken to Mars in 10 to 12 years, according to a hopeful Elon Musk. He thinks it is certainly possible for that to occur. Musk says the thing that matters long term is to have a self-sustaining city on Mars, to make life multiplanetary.

AI is something all of us should “keep an eye on.”
Tesla CEO Elon Musk told CNBC back in June that he’d invested in a company called Vicarious that is developing products and services based on artificial intelligence. As soon as 10 years from now these RoboBees could artificially pollinate a field of crops.
Honeybees pollinate nearly one-third of the food we eat but they have been dying at unprecedented rates because of a mysterious phenomenon known as colony collapse disorder (CCD). The situation is so dire that in late June the White House gave a new task force just 180 days to devise a coping strategy to protect bees and other pollinators. The crisis is generally attributed to a mixture of disease, parasites, and pesticides.

The sensors will track the players on the field.
Beginning this September, and for the first time ever 17 National Football League stadiums will employ radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology to better track how players move on the field during games. The football league has partnered with Zebra Technologies to use its quarter-sized RFID sensors inside the shoulder pads of players. These sensors will track not just where players are on the field, but also how fast they get going, and what their acceleration was like on the way there — all in real-time.
