Because everyone knows that business success relies on linking your brand to bodily waste, here is a urinal in Brazil from Billboard that lets you shred while peeing.
The face-melting bathroom fixture, conceived by ad agency Almap BBDO and 3-D modeled by Cricket Design, is making the rounds this summer of several bars in São Paulo. As you can see, “Guitar Pee” looks like a regular urinal with a fretboard sticking out of its top and an ominous electric cord connected to an amp on the wall. Make sure you’re wearing rubber-soled shoes before whipping it out, lads!

How is my DNA NOT private?
Unlike the contents of your inbox, bank statement, or Facebook timeline, your DNA quite literally defines you. It’s strange, then, that in an age where sequencing the genome is becoming trivial, we don’t give a second thought about the privacy issues surrounding the chemicals that make us who we are.
In fact, most states in the US have absolutely no laws whatsoever to govern surreptitious genetic testing. If that surprises you, it gets worse. Back in 2006, the particularly forward-thinking state of Minnesota passed a law demanding that written consent had to be obtained for collection, storage, use, and sharing of genetic information. In 2011, however, the Minnesota Supreme Court judged that the state’s own department of health was in violation of that very law.
So, quite literally millions of US citizen have their DNA records stored on databases, and there are few laws governing what’s done with the data. Something has to be done about that—but it’s not necessarily as easy as it sounds.
Clamp down on DNA privacy…

Teleportation is one step closer to reality.
Though quantum teleportation has existed for well over 10 years, it has never actually happened at a distance that would be of any use to people in the real world. But for the first time, Chinese researchers were able to teleport a quantum object nearly 100 kilometers, ramping up the real world applications for the idea.
According to Technology Review, the quantum teleportation does not involve dematerializing and then re-materializing physical matter, but rather using a photon to transmit the quantum state of one object to another, thus allowing the recipient to become a clone of the sender (think of it kind of like your consciousness inhabiting someone else’s body)…

The price for HP ink cartridges isn’t shrinking but the amount of ink that HP puts into those cartridges sure has, according to an investigation by HP Ink Cartridges.co.uk.
The site took two of the same model of ink cartridges, the HP 350. One was produced in 2010, the other in 2012. They sawed off the top and measured the spot that holds the ink with a sponge. The one from 2012 held about half the ink from 2010. But from the outside they looked the same…
