As every moment passes, what was once the future is now the present. Those that worry that this transformation occurs too suddenly suffer from what is called “future shock”, a condition first diagnosed half a century ago by Alvin Toffler. Future shock is described as the “shattering stress and disorientation that we induce in individuals by subjecting them to too much change in too short a time.”
