Lost City of Atlantis May Have Been Found By U.S. Research Team

Greek philosopher Plato wrote about Atlantis some 2,600 years ago, describing it as “an island situated in front of the straits which are by you called the Pillars of Hercules.”

A U.S.-led research team may have finally located the lost city of Atlantis, the legendary metropolis believed swamped by a tsunami thousands of years ago in mud flats in southern Spain.

2,000-Year-Old Pills

A microscopic image reveals that the ancient pills were not well mixed together.

In 1989, a shipwreck from about 130 B.C. was discovered. Divers retrieved dishes and other artifacts. One surprising discovery was a chest of vials and containers with tablets in them, some still dry! Evolutionary geneticist Robert Fleischer said they were made of compressed vegetation.

“It was assumed the pills were medicines that the physicians were using. There were things associated with this chest that led them to believe it was a physician’s chest,” said Fleischer…

6.500 Year Old Baby Goes on Display in World’s Largest Mummy Exhibition

Peruvian child mummy in a remarkable state of preservation and dated to 4504-4457 BC.

More than 6,500 years ago in Peru, this tiny baby’s brief battle for life finally came to an end.  The child, no more than 10 months old, had a serious heart defect and suffered from growth problems.  After contracting pneumonia and then suffering circulation failure the sick child died and was wrapped in linen and buried with an amulet hung around its neck.
