If you haven’t started your Christmas shopping yet, you only have one week left.  With only a week left in the shopping season shoppers are beginning to feel the pressure of the holidays.  I haven’t even begun to start my shopping and will probably wait  until a couple of days before Christmas to get it done.  I have done some browsing online when I get a chance.  The gift  selections we have these days are crazy!

Most babies born in rich countries this century will eventually make it to their 100th birthday, new research says. Danish experts say that since the 20th century, people in developed countries are living about three decades longer than in the past. Surprisingly, the trend shows little sign of slowing down.

View this century’s longest solar eclipse aboard the JetLite 737-700 

On Wednesday, July 22, 2009, we are going to witness the greatest eclipse of the 21st century. A total eclipse of the sun will be visible from within a narrow corridor that traverses half of Earth. The path of the Moon’s umbral shadow will begin in India and cross through Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar and China. Here is a great chance for the eclipse chasers to fly above the clouds at level four-one-zero to have a clear view of the eclipse.

Looking like a Jell-O mold, but calling itself the Jelly Box, this new workspace is now on display at the Truman Brewery during London 2008 Design Week. This clever design by architect David Hingamp of the London firm Archic, has just been named runner up in the 2008 Urbantine Project.

Sea-Rise Levels By End Of Century May Be Lower Than Previously Predicited 

 Columbia Glacier is adding to ocean levels this century, the total global sea rise by 2100 may be lower than many are anticipating.

Despite projections by some scientists of global seas rising by 20 feet or more by the end of this century as a result of warming, a new University of Colorado at Boulder study concludes that global sea rise of much more than 6 feet is a near physical impossibility.
