Seventy-seven percent of Americans see religious influence decreasing, but most want more: Gallup

The survey represents some of the lowest ratings Americans have given to religious influence in the U.S. in 40 years.

Seventy-seven percent of Americans believe that religion’s influence in the nation is waning, yet also think society would be better off if more Americans were religious, according to a new survey.

With the scandal unfolding in Britain we see just how powerful someone like Rupert Murdoch really is. However there have been many like him before as we see in this list of some of the most powerful media moguls in history. My favorite is Joseph Pulitzer (pictured). Oleg Shumilov of the Institute of North Industrial Ecology Problems in Russia studied earth’s geomagnetic field from 1948 to 1997 and found three seasonal peaks, from March to May, July and October.
