Are U.S. drone strikes creating more terrorists than they kill?

The use of drone strikes is a polarizing topic.

Recently, there has been a lot of talk about the new online infographic, “Out of Sight, Out of Mind,” which shows a chilling visualization of all estimated deaths in Pakistan caused by U.S. drone strikes, including children and civilians, based on estimates from the Bureau of Investigative Journalism and New America Foundation. Whether you agree with the numbers, or the politics, behind this particular project (put together by the data visualization firm Pitch Interactive), at least it’s sparking debate. And that’s got to be a good thing — there’s still so much we don’t know about this highly controversial issue.

Trees Cocooned in Spiders Webs Reducing Risk of Malaria in Pakistan

Wow. Now that’s a lot of spiders!

Millions of spiders have crawled into trees in Pakistan to escape flood waters, shrouding them with their silky webs. The eye-catching phenomenon is an unexpected side-effect of last year’s flooding which claimed the lives of almost 2,000 people.

However, since the monsoon weather devastated the nation last July, much of the water has still not yet receded. The tiny insects have sought refuge amongst the trees weaving beautifully intricate webs between the leaves. The branches are now so cocooned in spiders webs it gives the appearance of them being shrouded in a large net…

The World’s Most Dangerous Operating Bridge

The world’s most dangerous bridge is located between two Pakistani cities Passu and Husaini.

People living in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Northern Pakistan were cut off from the rest of Pakistan until 1978 due to the mountainous terrain and lack of roads. You could take a small airplane, but that was reserved for only the richest citizens. (Pics)

Country of Pakistan Block’s All of YouTube Over “Offensive” Cartoon

Let’s start by saying that some countries just aren’t very good at taking a joke. The government of Pakistan has today ordered all local Internet Providers to block access to Google’s YouTube video sharing site “until further notice” due to offensive content. According to officials, the YouTube website contains cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammad which angered a large number of Muslims.
