Genetically Modified Cows in China to Produce ‘Human’ Milk

DrinkHuminMilk

Scientists have successfully created a herd of more than 200 cows that is capable of producing milk that contains the characteristics of human milk.

Details are a bit thin on this one, but my initial reaction to this is an overwhelming grossness: Researchers in China have genetically modified some 200 cows so that the milk they produce is similar to human milk.

Having a clucking good time.

A Cornish man has set up a hotel for chickens to provide five star service for pampered hens while their owners are away.

Naval Sonar Exercises Linked to Whale Strandings

Whales are affected by Naval Sonar Exercises.

Scientists have long been aware of a link between naval sonar exercises and unusual mass strandings of beaked whales. Evidence of such a link triggered a series of lawsuits in which environmental groups sued the U.S. Navy to limit sonar exercises to reduce risk to whales. In 2008, this conflict rose to the level of the US Supreme Court which had to balance potential threat to whales from sonar against the military risk posed by naval forces inadequately trained to use sonar to detect enemy submarines. The court ruled that the Navy could continue training, but that it was essential for the Navy to develop better methods to protect the whales.

Anti-Obesity Campaign takes on a new shape.

On March 20, the first day of spring, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” the legendary children’s book written by Eric Carle in 1969, will be sent for free to more than 17,500 pediatricians’ offices around the country in order to promote the “Eating Healthy. Thailand Tried to Barter Chickens for Fighter Jets
