“I Wanted To Be A Princess” series used clumps of hair to create 3,000 bricks.

Designers have utilized human hair in an incredible range of applications from sunglasses to dresses, product packaging and even woven mats that keeps weeds from growing in lawns.  Artists like Agustina Woodgate have also taken note.  She has transformed strands from countless heads into a hair bricks that she uses to construct gigantic castles. Nature by the numbers: Fibonacci Sequence animated in mesmerizing video

We all learned about the Fibonacci numbers in school. If you need a refresher course, the integers in the Fibonacci sequence start with 0 and 1. Each subsequent number is the sum of the previous two, so the third number in the sequence is 1, the fourth number, is 2, the fifth number is 3, and so on. The Fibonacci spiral is something we see every day in nature but never really pay much attention to. The German Society of Nature Photographers — the trippingly named Gesellschaft Deutscher Tierfotografen — holds a contest every year for the best photographs. Featured in the Guardian are some of the winners with some truly stunning photographs. OK Go’s new music video is high-tech and awesome. Typical.

OK Go has done some neat stuff in the past 13 years, but this new music video makes “Here It Goes Again” look like amateur hour.
The guys that brought you music videos with Rube Goldbergs and trained dogs, OK Go has released a new music video that uses a glass stage and a whole bunch of unitards to create what can only be described as a human kaleidescope. A look behind the scenes shows how one glass pane captured all of the images which were then combined to create effects like a cascade of bodies or florid designs…

The world’s largest Lite Brite image

Rob Surette send us this image of his latest art project: the world’s largest Lite Brite creation! The work is titled “World Peace” and features American faces on the left and faces the rest of the world on the right, gazing at each other in friendship. The piece is 20 feet long and 10 feet high, and contains 504,000 Lite Brite pegs!
