The beneficial effect of chocolate consumption on stroke may be related to the flavonoids in chocolate.
According to a new study, eating a moderate amount of chocolate each week may be associated with a lower risk of stroke in men. The study was published in the August 29, 2012, online issue of Neurology®, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology. “While other studies have looked at how chocolate may help cardiovascular health, this is the first of its kind study to find that chocolate, may be beneficial for reducing stroke in men,” said study author Susanna C. Larsson, PhD, with the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.

A majority of Millennials, believe stormy weather can interfere with cloud computing.
“The cloud” is the tech buzzword of the year. But many Americans remain foggy about what the cloud really is and how it works. A new national survey by Wakefield Research, commissioned by Citrix, showed that most respondents believe the cloud is related to weather, while some referred to pillows, drugs and toilet paper. Those in the know claim working from home in their “birthday suit” is the cloud’s greatest advantage. The good news is that even those that don’t know exactly what the cloud is recognize its economic benefits and think the cloud is a catalyst for small business growth.
Millennials are thinking entrepreneurially, viewing themselves as microbusinesses operating in a highly uncertain economic environment.
Millennials aren’t alone as they shift from tangibles (cars and homes) to intangibles (education and access to data). The business sector is moving along the same tangible-to-intangible path as the Millennials, perhaps at an even faster pace. Business spending on nonresidential structures, other than mining-related, is roughly 30% below the 2007 pre-recession highs, while investment in software is up almost 20% over the same period.

Doctors are ordering too many scans, too many blood tests, too many procedures for their patients and it is costing the nation’s health care system at least $210 billion a year, according to the Institute of Medicine. It is also taking a human toll in pain, emotional suffering, severe complications and even death.
