 A new study from GE and Accenture, “Industrial Internet Insights for 2015,” reveals there is a growing urgency for organizations to embrace big data analytics to advance their Industrial Internet strategy. However, less than 29 percent of the 250 executives surveyed for the study are using big data across their company for predictive analytics or to optimize their business.

About 43.5 percent of our social traffic are social networks we know.

In the early days of the web, pages of information linked to each other. Then along came web crawlers that helped you find what you wanted among all that information. Around 2003 or 2004, the social web really kicked into gear, and thereafter the web’s users began to connect with each other more and more often. Hence Web 2.0, Wikipedia, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, etc. This is the dominant history of the web as seen, for example, in this Wikipedia entry on the ‘Social Web.’

Google suffered a temporary fault yesterday which left tens of thousands of internet users without access to the web search engine.  The technical problem brought down the company’s homepage and had a knock effect on Google-owned sites such as YouTube and some websites using Google ad servers.
