Drinking coffee may lower suicide risk by 50%

Caffeine may also act as a mild antidepressant.

Good news for coffee drinkers. According to a new study by the Harvard School of Public Health, subjects who drank two to four cups of coffee daily were 50 percent less likely to commit suicide. This was observed in comparison to those who drink decaffeinated, very little, or no coffee.

American Kids More Medicated Than Kids In Europe 

 

American children are approximately three times more likely to be prescribed psychotropic medication than children in Europe. A new study published today in BioMed Central’s open access journal Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Mental Health claims that the differences may be accounted for by regulatory practices and cultural beliefs about the role of medication in emotional and behavioural problems.
