After President Kennedy signed the Equal Pay Act nearly 50 years ago, on average women are still paid less than their male counterparts for doing comparable jobs in the U.S. — that’s called the pay gap. It means that each time the average woman starts a new job, she’s likely to start from a lower base salary than her male counterparts.

Women express more interest in buying tablets, laptops and smartphones.

Two thousand consumers were recently surveyed about their buying habits with unexpected results.  The survey found that women are embracing new technology and gadgets at a higher rate than men. The insight, provided by retailer HSN, has left men everywhere responding with a characteristic “Whuh?”

Women’s pay will overtake men’s by 2020

Pay for women will overtake men’s within a decade if current trends in the labor market continue, new figures show.  The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said that the “gender pay gap” – the difference between average salaries of men and women – has fallen to under 10 per cent for the first time ever.
