Lilium: The first electrical vertical take-off and landing plane
There will soon be a personal craft that can take off and land vertically. It will be electric and seat two people, and is the starting point for what is hoped will be a generation of environmentally friendly and quiet planes. CEO Daniel Wiegand is wanting the plane to be suitable for daily use as an airport is not needed.

A new device can bring super fast internet speeds into your home
A Boston startup called Starry is creating a cheap device that can deliver internet access to your business or home, wirelessly, and 100 times faster than the average home connection. The technology behind this device, millimeter wave active phased array, has become increasingly cheaper, and less bulky.

Powerwall is Tesla’s new idea for harnessing and storing green energy
Powerwall will harness energy from renewable sources and make it available for household use or make it available on a distributed grid . The battery would store energy when demand is low and release it during peak periods when energy supplied by large power stations is expensive.

Apps and devices transforming to make way for digital homes
It is not uncommon for a household to have 15 or more devices connected to the internet. Usually devices consist of tablets computers and smart tvs, but when do air conditioners and washing machines get added to the list. “Bring it on,” Ms Boulos, 41, said. “Having things simplified and working through one connection – that would be awesome. That would make my life so much easier.”

New Guinness world record for longest hoverboard flight
Last year Canadian inventor Catalin Alexandru Duru set the record with 275.9 meters for longest hoverboard flight. This year he it was obliterated by Franky Zapata, who flew 2252 meters off the coast of Sausset-les-Pins in the south of France. Franky Zapata is a French jet ski champion who also invented Flyboard Air.

We are getting closer to traveling safely at 760 miles per hour using magnets
Using a “passive” levitating system, Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, has found a safe way to travel at 760 mph. The ultra-fast rail system is similar to the Maglev train in Asia, but should be cheaper to install and operate. The pod will also be able to charge automatically harnessing energy caused by breaking.

Microscopic robots get tiny practical engines
Making machines smaller and smaller is becoming easier and easier to the point we can now make working machines that are only the size of complex molecules. The problem is making them work. Researchers have tried various power an propulsion systems, but they lack speed, strength and control. However, with the creation of tiny engines, nanobots could be coming to living cells near you.
