Just a few bad habits like watching TV, eating potato chips, having a sugary soda at lunch or staying up too late at night are just a few bad habits that can add up to a steady creep of pounds over the years, U.S. researchers have found.

Professor Haub – who lost 27lb – teaches human nutrition at Kansas State University in the U.S.

A professor who went on a ten-week diet based on cream cakes, snacks, sugary cereals and biscuits says he lost nearly two stone. Mark Haub said that on the ‘convenience store diet’ his ‘bad’ cholesterol also dropped by 20 per cent and his level of triglycerides, a form of fat, by 39 per cent.

The study, conducted by Dr Daniela Jakubowicz from Virginia Commonwealth University, found that women who eat half of their daily calories first thing in the morning lose more weight in the long term than those who start the day with a small breakfast.
