Researchers found that chocolates contain more healthy plant compounds and antioxidants, gram-for-gram, than fruit juice.

Chocoholics, you can now gorge on your favourite treat without a sense of guilt, for scientists have claimed that it’s actually healthier than many fruit.  Not only that, but chocolate is being heralded as the latest “super food” by the scientists who carried out a study.

Cocoa prices have reached their highest levels for 33 years, increasing 150 per cent in the last 18 months, and financial speculators are being accused of inflating prices to make a financial profit. Cocoa crop failure in the Ivory Coast, the world’s top grower, is partly the cause, but some experts are blaming the London commodity market where cocoa is traded…

Children Will Indulge in Over 5 Pounds of Chocolate Over the Easter Holiday

A typical child will eat over five and a half pounds of chocolate over the Easter period

Children will indulge in an average of more than five and a half pounds of chocolate over the Easter holiday – taking in nearly 13,000 calories and 650 grams of fat, a survey found.  The poll, by mystery shopping company Retail Active, found a typical 200g Easter egg has 990 calories and 50 grams of fat, with youngsters aged 10-14 eating an average of 13, many first thing on Easter Sunday.

Edible Insect ‘Pic ‘n’ Mix’ Available At Theme Park

What a classy snack to eat after a roller coaster ride!
Chocolate ant wafer biscuits, cheese and bacon flavoured crickets and chocolate covered larvae are not be among the average sweet shop’s pic ‘n’ mix selection.

But a Surrey theme park is offering the snacks – which contain real dried insects – in traditional pink and white paper bags as a trial.

Sales of chocolate and running shoes are up. Wine drinkers haven’t stopped sipping; they just seem to be choosing cheaper vintages.

Gold coins are selling like hot cakes. So are gardening seeds. Tanning products are piling up in shopping carts; maybe more people are finding color in a bottle than from sun-worshipping on a faraway beach.
