Smell Like A Nerd: RPG Performance Perfumes

Don’t you wish you could smell like me?

Yesterday we told you about blood type perfumes. Today we have something even wackier. Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab is selling a line of RPG-inspired perfumes intended to invoke the mythical races of elves, dwarves, half-elves, hobbits and orcs, as well as the distinctive aromas of clerics, fighters, mages, paladins and such. I totally guessed that paladins smelled like vanilla and “evil” smelled of “Smouldering opium tar, tobacco absolute, green tea, black plum, kush, ambergris accord, ambrette seed, and costus root…”

Floating Golf Course Planned For The Maldives

Maldives_704104a
Who gets to be the person selling golf balls?
It already has artificial islands, scuba-diving Cabinet ministers and a back-up plan to relocate its entire population if it is swamped by rising seas. Now the Maldives has another scheme to deal with its watery future: floating golf.

The island nation has signed a deal with a Dutch company to investigate building the world’s first permanent floating golf course, along with a convention centre and residential rooms, on a platform on the Indian Ocean.

The project could be a pioneer for floating villages and towns, Mahmood Razee, the Minister for Civil Aviation, Communication and Privatisation, said. “If it is successful we will try to work with them to see if they could develop housing facilities as well,” he said. “We need this because of climate change and because of a lack of land because of island erosion.

Flying To New York? Then Why Not Change Pace And Go By Luxury Airship?

fantasy air ship 1

At home in the clouds: In this image two of the airships are tethered above Hong Kong. Its developers believe the craft will offer luxury transport which focuses on comfort over speed

Towering, kite-shaped airships could herald a new era of luxury transport following today’s introduction of the Aircruise concept.
Standing 98ft taller than Canary Wharf, packing 330,000 cubic metres of hydrogen gas and capable of lifting 396 tonnes, the Aircruise concept features penthouse apartments, bars and even dizzying glass viewing floors.

Aircruise was created as the antithesis of a hurried, crowded passenger jet. London-based design and innovation company Seymourpowell wanted to rethink transport – on the premise ‘slow is the new fast’. It could ferry 100 people from London to New York in a leisurely 37 hours as opposed to the seven it takes now by airplane.

Mechanical Hooves Help Hop Up Any Fantasy Costume

digitigrade-centaur-legs.jpg

Just hop on over here…

Ever wished you were a 7-foot tall semi-centaur with the body of a human and a horse’s legs? Er, me neither. But there’s plenty of people out there who do, and Seattle-based fantasy artist Kim Graham has come up with a killer Halloween costume that makes you 14 inches taller and gives you uncanny-looking equine legs and spring-loaded cloven hooves. The effect is quite amazing, and even a bit sexy – or, maybe that’s just the admirably proportioned Ms. Graham.

7 Badass/Loser Cartoon Villains

 gargamel.jpg

Well I guess you can say he is a villain oh wait no he isn’t hes a loser

The hero’s tale requires that he overcome long odds to defeat the bad guys. We understand that; nobody would have rooted for Luke Skywalker if Darth Vader had been a small, handicapped child.

But many of the cartoons of our childhood took this idea to absolutely retarded extremes, to the point that it strained even our childish suspension of disbelief. These are the badass villains who had no business coming out on the losing end: Continue reading… “7 Badass/Loser Cartoon Villains”

New York’s Comic Con

 zcomiccon.jpg

Find your inner dork and hey its completely ok

We attended Comic Con in New York on Saturday. The show was at the Javits center, the same place that hosts the New York Auto Show and Toy Fair. The show was sold out for the weekend, and at times it was too crowded for us to see much, or even move around on the exhibition floor. But inside and outside the hall there were some fantastic costumes. Continue reading… “New York’s Comic Con”

Trendy And Fashionable Creative Lashes

Trendy And Fashionable Creative Lashes

Thinking of fashion and trends, I got thinking that ultimately it is the ‘whole’ look that makes an impact…a fab dress, great shoes, right accessories, they all fail to make create magic by themselves. It’s only when they complement each other that a person looks good. And accessories go a long way in adding a dash of style to any outfit.
