Charge, move, sync and store multiple iPads with ease.

Here’s something that every school and library will soon have in one form or another. An iPad Trolley is a storage container that provides security for the devices both from theft as well as gravity. It also charges and can sync information to the stored units…

Car seat sensors ID drivers by their rear ends

Pressure-sensing seat

Hilarity quickly ensues when Larry David calls out “I’d know that tush anywhere!” When your car says it – or at least, thinks it – the result is the engine starting and personal comfort preferences like climate control and seat positioning being remembered and activated, hands free. It’s still sort of hilarious, of course, but you can’t deny the security or the practicality inherent in the concept.

Is your smartphone spying on you?

carrierIQ1129

The Carrier IQ app not only tracks everywhere you go it also records all of your keystrokes.

A clandestine application called Carrier IQ, was recently discovered by an Android developer.  The application  is built into most smartphones and it doesn’t just track your location; it secretly records your keystrokes, and there’s nothing you can do about it. Is it time to put on a tinfoil hat? That depends on how you feel about privacy.

IDC study predicts world’s data will grow by 50 times by 2020

digital-economy

Unstructured information – such as files, email and video – will account for 90% of all data created over the next decade.

1.8 zettabytes (or 1.8 trillion gigabytes) of data will be created in 2011 alone. That is the equivalent to every U.S. citizen writing 3 tweets per minute for 26,976 years. And the number of servers managing the world’s data stores will grow by ten times over the next 10 years.

Fujitsu Creates the World’s Smallest Vein Sensor

vein sensor

Fujitsu’s vein sensor is the world’s smallest and slimmest.

Technology to make biometric security useful is already in place.  Manufacturers are making biometric security more efficient, and usable. Fujitsu has created the world’s smallest and slimmest vein sensor. The vein sensor recognizes the veins on the palm of a person’s hand, unlike a fingerprint sensor that reads a user’s finger prints in order to verify a person’s identit.   The user just has to hold their palm lightly over the sensor in order to use it.  The user doesn’t even have to touch the sensor, eliminating any hygienic issues.

Biggest Security Threats on Facebook

Facebook

Facebook is the new frontier for fraud.

Forget those phishing emails that attempt to get your credit card or bank sign-in information. When crooks want to know how to get into your bank account, they post a message on Facebook.
