An electric car charging station.
Electric cars and hybrid cars have gone pretty mainstream. But is the charging infrastructure keeping pace? Especially since there are lots of proposals for how we could transition away from the gas station model.
In fact, if you don’t have an electric car you might not even be aware that there are really charging stations around at all in a significant way. But as of May there were more than 20,000 of them in the U.S., which is not nothing. Of course, that’s not quite on the level of the roughly121,000 gas stations around the country, but it’s actually not that far off. Especially when you think about the fact that most electric cars can charge up in residential homes. Come on North and South Dakota, all the cool kids are doing it.
