During their time with these people, they asked them to pose for photographs with their daily diets in front of them. The craziest part about the entire project is the caloric intake difference between people of different walks of life.

Food ads have more clout than parents: study

Kids who saw an ad for fries picked the fries, even when their parents tried to get them to pick a healthier alternative.

Food ads are more persuasive than an involved parent when it comes to children’s food selection, a new study in The Journal of Pediatrics suggests.  Researchers were surprised at the findings when they were trying to determine the impact of commercials in childrens’ diets.

U.S. Pushes Cheese Sales Despite Warning About Fat

Dairy Management, which has made cheese its cause  is a marketing creation of the United States Department of Agriculture — the same agency at the center of a federal anti-obesity drive.

Early last year Domino’s Pizza was hurting. Domestic sales had fallen, and a survey of big pizza chain customers left the company tied for the worst tasting pies. Then help arrived from an organization called Dairy Management. It teamed up with Domino’s to develop a new line of pizzas with 40 percent more cheese, and proceeded to devise and pay for a $12 million marketing campaign.
