Italian Priest Develops iMass App for the iPad


iMass lets priests celebrate Mass with an iPad.

An Italian priest has developed an app that will let priests celebrate Mass with an iPad on the altar instead of the regular Roman missal.   The Rev. Paolo Padrini, a consultant with the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Social Communications, said Friday that the free application will be launched in July in English, French, Spanish, Italian and Latin.

Apparently there is a half life to sins. The old book of sins speaking in “begots” and “begats” was a little behind the times, and so was everything that came after “Thou shalt not…”. The new list of seven sins starts off something like this.

Thou shall not pollute the Earth. Thou shall beware genetic manipulation. Modern times bring with them modern sins. So the Vatican has told the faithful that they should be aware of “new” sins such as causing environmental blight.

Four hundred years after it put Galileo on trial for heresy the Vatican is to complete its rehabilitation of the great scientist by erecting a statue of him inside the Vatican walls.

The planned statue is to stand in the Vatican gardens near the apartment in which Galileo was incarcerated while awaiting trial in 1633 for advocating heliocentrism, the Copernican doctrine that the Earth revolves around the Sun.
