Venture Beat tried to cover all of the 2 million square feet of exhibit space at the 2014 International CES.  They saw only a portion of the tens of thousands products on display at the huge tech trade show. They saw fads like 3D glasses for TVs fade away. And it was interesting to see how “phablets,” or phones with huge, tablet-like screens, have caught on in places like Asia even though we’ve ridiculed them in the past.

NSA infiltrated online games in hunt for terrorists

The NSA described games communities, such as World of Warcraft, as a ‘target-rich network’ where potential terrorists could ‘hide in plain sight’.

Because of leaks from the former National Security Agency employee, Edward Snowden, the NSA is still under the microscope. The NSA has been straddling a fine line between being a terrifying and comically inept government institution. Now, in the latter category: a report that the NSA infiltrated the dark world of online gaming.

But that doesn’t mean the economy has returned to where it was before the steepest downturn since the Great Depression and may not for years. Employment is not expected to return to its pre-recession peak until 2014, according to a recent report by IHS Global Insight.
