DARPAs Microdrones Designed To Enter Houses

As drone expert, P.W. Singer said about microdrones, At this point, it doesnt really matter if you are against the technology, because its coming. According to Singer, The miniaturization of drones is where it really gets interesting. You can use these things anywhere, put them anyplace, and the target will never even know theyre being watched.

This has been the promise that the Air Force made quite clear in their video early last year about nanodrone tech that you can see below. According to the USAF, Micro Air Vehicles (MAVs), combined with the ability to harvest energy, will enable insect-sized drone swarms to be dropped from military aircraft to stay aloft for a prolonged amount of time, offering a host of functions, including assassination.

Norway might become the first to ban gas-powered cars

The US is only now warming up to the idea of electric cars and other eco-friendly modes of transportation,  however Norway is whole-heartedly embracing them. It might become the first country to actually ban the sale of gas-powered vehicles in its aim to reach zero vehicle emissions by 2025.

Packages already being delivered by drones in Germany

DHL has now sent over 100 packages with drones, while companies like amazon are still struggling with air restrictions. The trial stayed local in the Bavarian town of Reit im Winkl, a small town known for forestry and skiing. The residents would drop off packages at “packstation” at which point drones take over the rest of the shipping process.

Pharmeceutical companies need to change their business strategies to keep up in the digital age

High drug prices are restricting people who need access to potentially life saving medications, from getting what they need. In the U.S. when government authorized patents expire, pharmaceutical companies rush to buy the patents and raise the prices of drugs by 6,000 percent. Martin Shkreli, at a conference, said he didn’t go far enough when raising the price of HIV drug Daraprim by more than 5,000 percent. Now with the rapid growth of digital and medical technology some may have to rethink their strategies for the future.

The U.S. military’s unmanned vessel “Sea Hunter” has begun testing. A self-driving 40-metre ship designed to travel out at sea without a single crewmember. The ship has potential to revolutionize the commercial shipping industry, making it the first step to sending unmanned cargo ships to other countries.

While India works on making its cities smart most of its population is getting left behind

India has become a global leader in pursuing smart city initiatives. Critics, though, are worried that most of India’s population, which still resides in villages, are being left out.  Rjasthan Governor Kalyan Singh criticized India’s flagship Smart City initiative as being inadequate and insufficient for India’s smaller population centers. Singh urged the government, instead to develop smart villages to improve India’s overall economic growth.
