Interest in Apple’s new Swift programming language is rapidly accelerating, with iOS and OS X developers from American Airlines, Getty Images, LinkedIn and Duolingo reporting favorable impressions.

NOTE: For those wanting to enter the fast moving world of mobile technology, starting April 6th, DaVinci Coders will be teaching a mobile apps course using Apple’s new Swift programming language.

3D scanner app for iPad can do full-body 3D models

Itseez3D a mobile scanning software maker, has released an update to its 3D scanner app that can accommodate full-body 3D models.  itSeez3D now allows the iPad to create realistic full-body models from 3D scans using Occipital’s Structure Sensor ($379), a snap-on hardware device.  Before the update, the app was only capable of scanning the head and shoulders.   Continue reading… “3D scanner app for iPad can do full-body 3D models”

Foxconn wants to use robots to lower cost of smartphones

Netherlands to launch iPad-only schools that may be the future of education

iPad centric schools to open in the Netherlands.

One of the biggest school districts to buy iPads recently is the LA Unified school district. They purchased iPads for all 30,000 students as additional learning aids for its traditional teacher-led classrooms. But a new series of schools being set up in the Netherlands is taking an even bigger leap forward: it’s going to be an iPad-only learning environment.

Apple unveils top iPhone and iPad apps of all time

Apple’s App Store launched nearly five years ago and they are counting down to the 50 billionth downloaded app. In celebration, the company will reward the person who downloads that app with a $10,000 App Store gift card. In line with this, Apple also revealed its updated lists of all-time top iPhone and iPad apps.
