Let’s state upfront that Adriannezy is brilliant. She wanted to participate in Halloween at work, but not wear a costume that got in the way. So she generated a QR code that, when scanned, reveals a picture of herself in a classic Star Trek uniform. She writes, “I’ve had groups of guys holding phones up to my chest all day. It’s been awkward.”

Movie Trailers released exclusively via QR Code for the first time


QR Codes are being embraced by Fox Searchlight Studios.

Fox Searchlight is shunning traditional promotional opportunities for its upcoming film Martha Marcy May Marlene.
Instead, the studio is rolling out an elaborate QR code campaign for the movie, which hits theaters on October 21.

Rather than go the traditional route of releasing teasers and trailers, Fox Searchlight opted to go digital…

QR Code on tombstone creates dynamic memorial

When Yoav Medan’s mother Judith passed away in June, the Israel-based medical technology executive couldn’t decide what he wanted to write on her tombstone. After deliberating with his family, Medan decided to turn to technology for the answer and attach a QR code to the grave in Haifa, Israel…

Can’t decide on a tattoo? Get a QR Code inked on your chest!

As part of whisky brand Ballantine’s “Leave an Impression” campaign, Paris-based tattoo artist Karl Marc seared a QR code onto his friend Marco’s chest.

Marc says the whisky company approached him and asked if he would be interested in executing the tattoo — a QR code that unlocked an animation when scanned — via a live stream on the brand’s Facebook Page. The brand is doing similar events with other artists, from ice sculptors to graffiti artists…
