Dangerous trend in marijuana acceptance amid teen drivers

Study reflects a dangerous trend toward the acceptance of marijuana and other substances compared to two years ago.

A growing number of teens do not see marijuana use as a distraction while driving.  Nearly one in five (19%) say they have gotten behind the wheel after smoking pot, a study reported Wednesday. Thirteen percent of teens report driving under the influence of alcohol.

Teens, young men consume way more sugary drinks than recommended limits

Men aged 20 to 39 consumed 252 calories a day from beverages containing added sugar.

Almost half of the population drinks a sugar-sweetened beverage on any given day.  But teenagers and young men consuming way more than recommended limits for staying healthy.

Does Facebook promote drug and alcohol abuse in teens?

Social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook and others, which displayed images of teens abusing alcohol and drugs, “constitutes electronic child abuse”.

 According to a  new study by the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University suggests that teens who use social media are more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol.
