A Nasa scientist believes he has discovered an alien life form which may explain how life on earth started and has called on any scientist worldwide to try and prove him wrong.

The Telenoid R1 achieved a new level of creepiness on the Japanese robotic front — quite an achievement given the country’s long history of oddball automated creations. Elfoid takes the cake, though. Developed at Osaka University and with help from NTT DoCoMo, Elfoid looks just like the Telenoid and, indeed, does much the same thing: giving you a human(ish) silhouette to talk to.  (video)

Now, we’ve all seen the Geminoid before – an extremely realistic robot that was a spitting image of the professor who created it. The robot originated in Japan by Professor Hiroshi Ishiguro, but now it looks like it has made its way over to Europe. A professor from Denmark decided to create a Geminoid of his own, and this one is even more realistic than Hiroshi Ishiguro’s original creation.  (videos)

Ibuprofen could reduce risk of Parkinson’s Disease.

Taking ibuprofen just two or three times a week could reduce the risk of developing Parkinson’s disease by a third, scientists have found.  Researchers discovered that adults who regularly take the painkiller are significantly less likely to go on to develop the debilitating condition.
