Since 2007, South Korea has been planning a robot-centric theme park. “Robot Land” is back on track after missing its initial opening date of 2012. Now slated for a 2015 opening, this place won’t be like any other theme park on Earth. (Pics)

Chinese artist Kefeng Zhu and his team of artists use heavy metal as their medium, and the results are pretty darn neat. His unofficial Transformers theme park is calledMr. Iron Robot, and it’s a big hit with kids from throughout the Zhejiang Province and beyond…

The origins of the roller coaster probably date back to Russia in the 1400s, where ice sledding was a popular winter activity. It became so popular that people in relatively flat areas constructed their own hills out of snow and ice.
The tops of these artificial hills were reached by way of elevated wood towers with stairways from the ground. For a small charge, people could climb the stairway and take a quick, exciting ride down the hill on a sled. (Pics)

A giant hi-tech roller-coaster set inside Hogwarts Castle will be one of the attractions at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park due to open in Florida next spring. The ‘Forbidden Journey’ ride, named by author JK Rowling, will take customers on a journey through scenes from the Harry Potter films when the attraction opens at Universal Studios’ Islands of Adventure resort in Orlando.

This Land of Love will not be seen or enjoyed.
China’s first sex theme park, aimed at improving both the sex education and the sex life of its visitors, has been torn down before it even opened. The owners were “interested only in profiting from sensationalism,” one official said.
Due to open in Chongqing in October, Love Land was to have included displays of giant genitalia, naked bodies and an exhibition on the history of sex.
The park was set to offer workshops on sex technique and safe-sex methods. But the plans left Chongqing officials red-faced. The officials called the planned park “vulgar, ill-minded and misleading”.
