Facebook upgrading all users to Timeline: 5 things to do first

Facebook’s Timeline feature will become permanent for all users.  Everyone will be updated to Timeline automaically within a few weeks. Once your profile is updated, you have seven days to adjust your profile just how you want. Depending on how much info you put on your profile and how long you’ve been using Facebook could determine if you’ll need that much time, but at the end of the seven days, the change is permanent.

Apple’s new iBooks 2 initiative has the potential to vastly improve the K-12 learning experience.  They will offer attractive digital textbooks with interactive features like videos, animations, definitions, flashcards, and quizzes. But, with the proprietary nature of the software it means that publishers, parents, and schools will be locked into Apple’s ecosystem.

Many of us have lost a wallet or cell phone and have just been about to give up on humanity when a perfect stranger returns them.  It’s the hypothesis of Found in Town, a new Chicago startup, that these moments of unexpected human goodness would be much more frequent if only technology were to lend a helping hand. Found in Town essentially brings the lost-and-found box and puts it on the Web.
