Geophagy – dining on dirt
Parents who have watched in horror as their young children stuff a handful of mud into their mouths while playing in the garden can relax. It appears eating mud or clay could actually be good for the stomach.
Americans tighten belts as they are squeezed by rising prices and stagnant wages.

Cilantro tastes so good but may have a plethora of pesticides on it.

Archaeologists claim to have found a forerunner to the pyramids not in Egypt – but in southern Romania.
The discovery being hailed as a sensation has been dated as being over 4,500 years old after it was unearthed in Aricestii Rahtivani, in Prahova county in southern Romania.
Archaeologist Alin Franculeasa, from the History and Archeology Museum in Prahova, said: “If we take the tomb of Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamen – he reigned between 1333 – 1323 BC, but this tomb is even older – from a man who obviously also had great wealth and importance but who would have lived 4,500 years ago.
“There are clearly similarities between the tomb we are looking at and that of the pyramids…

But how much do we actually want to see?
Video cameras and wireless technology have gotten so small, now developers at ZionEyez in Seattle are working on Eyez, a pair of glasses with a tiny embedded video camera that can continuously record everything you see in 720p, transmitting it wirelessly to social media sites for all to see…

The best way to make something more awesome is to add fire, I think. The flame reaches 21 feet and the trombone–which still plays–can be heard from two blocks away. The only thing that could have made this video better is a little bit of “Smoke on the Water”. And more cowbell!
Glowing paper for that special time of day.
The ‘Glow in the Dark Loo Roll’ is ideal for cleaning up things that go dump in the night. This toilet tissue will cast its funky green glow across the bathroom, freeing desperate guests and over-refreshed toilet-goers from that awkward pants-round-the-ankles search routine in the dead of night…
Rats are the latest pet craze in New York City.
In New York City it’s good to be a rat, where rats are the latest hot trend in pets. New Yorkers even held a rat fashion show this past weekend. The pet rats wore couture gowns and tuxes many humans would love to wear – in their sizes, of course. (pics and video)

Hackles — the long, skinny rooster feathers fishermen use to make lures are the latest trend in hair extensions.
Jim Bernstein, a flly shop manager, was warned that hair stylists would come banging on his door. But he didn’t listen. Less than 24 hours later, a woman walked into the Eldredge Bros. Hüttenpalast
Want a great concept for a new hotel? Just convert an old, unused vacuum factory space into a budget boutique hotel. And even better, use refurbished mobile campers for rooms. Berlin’s new and attractive Hüttenpalast (that’s German for “hut palace”) has done just that. It is in the beautiful old workers’ quarter of Neukölln: allowing guests to experience the cozy camping feeling, without the bugs and in the middle of a vibrant city. But it’s not exactly ‘roughing it’ in the solitary sense. The caravans are beautifully remodeled. The bathrooms are “luxurious”. And guests can socialize with each other without the rowdiness usually associated with cheap hostels. (Pics)
