The world’s largest rubber band manufacturer is putting graphene, the strongest material in the world, into its bands. With the right amount of graphene, the bands will be unbreakable and just as elastic as ordinary bands. Graphene-infused bands hold the ability to embed scannable RFID tags and temperature sensors, and possess anti-static properties.

People will take 1.2 trillion digital photos this year — thanks to smartphones

Thanks to smartphones, millions of people around the globe are turning into prolific photographers. According to estimates from InfoTrends, people will take a hundred billion more photos in 2017 than they did in 2016. As highlighted by this chart from Statista — which is based on the InfoTrends’ data — the vast majority of those photos will be taken on smartphones.

Bill Gates and Richard Branson are investing in a mysterious new meat

Just as Whole Foods shareholders and the Federal Trade Commission gave the green light to Amazon’s $13.7 billion acquisition of Whole Foods, news broke that a number of high-profile investors—including billionaires Bill Gates and Richard Branson—have decided to pour their money into a very different sort of food venture: Memphis Meats, a San Francisco-based company that is developing meat from stem cells.

The start-up is part of a growing “clean meat” movement intended to produce a variety of sustainable, lab-grown meat products using animal cells, without having to actually feed or slaughter any animals in the process.

Harley Davidson’s first electric bike

Remember this iconic motorcycle? It was used by Scarlett Johansson aka The Black Widow in an engaging chase sequence in the 2015 movie, ‘Avengers: TNNhe age of Ultron’. Bike lovers were particularly awed by the jet-turbine like sound from the bike as Black Widow skillfully maneuvered it through approximately ten cars at high speed, chasing Ultron’s mercenaries at its best speed.

South Korea is building a $10 billion agriculture city in Egypt

Within six months, 311,400 acres of land in Egypt will be transformed into an agriculture city. The $10 billion deal was signed on Tuesday by Egypt and the Korea-Arab Society (KAS). The project will feature 50,000 smart greenhouses in addition to a number of seawater desalination and solar power plants. Machine gun-toting drone threatens to change warfare forever

In 2015, a video showing a semi-automatic handgun being fired from a custom-built dronewent viral, raising concerns for authorities, including the FAA. The development of such a DIY device was only a matter of time, as was the commercialization of the technology. Now Florida-based startup Duke Robotics has unveiled the TIKAD, a custom-built multirotor that can carry and fire various military weapons, including semi-automatic rifles and grenade launchers.
