Ubitricity will start converting lampposts into EV charging stations

Ubitricity is a company out of Germany and their plan to convert lampposts to EV charging stations is underway. Ubitricity is currently using London lampposts that have been previously converted to LED lighting to also charge commuter EV vehicles. EV owners simply need to purchase a custom charging cable from Ubitricity that contains a meter that will track the user’s power usage and charge them appropriately. Don’t expect to just walk on up and plug anything you want into the charging port as the custom charging cable is what activates the port. No custom charging cable, no juice.

A sleeper bus with pod-like rooms is coming to California

The concept of the sleeper bus isn’t foreign to the seasoned traveler. We’ve endured them throughout a large portion of Southeast Asia, after all, and that’s just one small corner of the world. Now, however, the idea has come to California, resulting in a sleeper bus that takes passengers between San Francisco and Los Angeles overnight.

In the AI age “being smart” will mean something completely different

Andrew Ng has likened artificial intelligence (AI) to electricity in that it will be as transformative for us as electricity was for our ancestors. I can only guess that electricity was mystifying, scary, and even shocking to them — just as AI will be to many of us. Credible scientists and research firms have predictedthat the likely automation of service sectors and professional jobs in the United States will be more than 10 times as large as the number of manufacturing jobs automated to date. That possibility is mind-boggling.
