September 20, 2017 – Israel based, AUGmedics is the inventor of an augmented reality technology designed to enhance the performance of surgeons doing spinal operations. Called ViZOR, the application provides a heads-up display that enhances a surgeon’s perception. ViZOR gives the wearer a 3D spinal projection that goes below the skin by using the information of the patient’s CT scan.

Where Americans are most likely to be killed by gun violence

On Sunday night, a gunman killed at least 59 people and injured 527 others on the Las Vegas Strip. The shooter, identified as Stephen Paddock, open fired from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino into a crowd of thousands below who were attending a country music festival.

Tiny robots serve as programmable molecular assembly machines

September 23, 2017 – If you can make a robot small enough and then give it an arm like the Canadarm on the International Space Station, could you have it build things a molecule at a time? That’s the challenge that scientists at The University of Manchester decided to accept, and voila, the result, a robot a mere one-millionth of a millimeter in size that is programmable, can move and has a tiny robotic arm. They published their results in the September 20, 2017, edition of the journal Nature in an article entitled, “Stereodivergent synthesis with a programmable molecular machine.”

72% of people 15 to 20 willing to pay extra for environmentally and socially responsible products

September 23, 2017 – There is a generational shift going on that is not reflected in the dystopian politics we see in the United States these days. The vast majority of young people see green, sustainable, and socially responsible as critical values in their purchasing decisions according to a Nielsen global study done in 2015. It concludes that Generation Z, those age 15 to 20, is committed to a future where pocketbook sacrifices are perfectly acceptable if it means fighting global warming successfully.
